The last month of autumn has been and gone. This year was a very good year for autumn colours in Canberra, although some of the trees looked a little 'starved' because of the dry conditions.
As always, the photos are in order of taking - from the beginning of the month. Apologies for the inordinate number of autumn colours, but they were rather spectacular this year.
The dry, warm conditions through April convinced our Kings Park Bottlebrush that it was again spring, and it flowered profusely. This brought in a large number of Rainbow Lorikeets to feed. Mixed with the flock of Rainbow Lorikeets was a small number of Musk Lorikeets.

Had a day's drive to Goulburn via the Barton Highway, Gunning and Breadalbane traversing the Old Hume Highway. We stopped off at Rowles Lagoon on the way home to give the dogs a longer run. There was still water in the lagoon, as I discovered when flying the drone over it, but birdlife was very sparse.

Family flocks of these birds have moved in to feed on pine cones, casuarina cones and wood grubs.
